This book comprises a collection of 40 nursery rhymes and songs that are ideal for children from the ages of 5 to 15 learning Sanskrit. The themes dealt with in this book are varying and include nature, animals, learning of basic activities, and so on. The rhymes and songs have been penned by Dr. Sampadananda Mishra and are accompanied by four-colour illustrations that have been created by in-house volunteers of Sri Aurobindo Society and the book has been published under the aegis of Samskrita Balasahitya Parishad.
SAMSKRITA BALASAHITYA PARISHAD is a unique initiative of SAFIC as a part of its ‘Sanskrit for Children’ project. The Parishad focuses on all possible activities related to creation, evaluation, preservation and propagation of qualitative children’s literature in Sanskrit. Founded on August 15, 2014, the members of the Parishad take up various academic and cultural activities for promoting qualitative children’s literature in Sanskrit and meet in different parts of the country to encourage and promote talented Sanskrit litterateurs, poets, doyens, scholars, academicians and patrons to produce and collect quality children's literature in Sanskrit.
